The Mill
Built in 1875 this former commercial building first appeared in the 1882 tax records as the Miami Valley hosiery mill.
The Mill produce mittens and socks for approximately 20 years. In 1892 owner, Charles H. Zwick added brick and frame additions and enlarged the structure to just under 5000 square feet. At that time it was converted into three row house style residences.
Sometime in the 1960s the building was cut up into six apartments and became a long-term neighborhood eyesore. It has since been renovated and returned to the original three townhouses.
This historic property is an excellent example of adaptive reuse having first been an industrial building and later becoming a residence.
