1003 Dayton Street

This Colonial Revival residence was built sometime between 1897 and 1900. It features many Queen Anne details such as the arched stained-glass windows & the wrap-around porch. Local historic directories show a widow, E.C. Falconer, lived here in 1900. In memory of her husband, Dr. Cyrus Falconer, she included the stained-glass window in the bay on the 1st floor that features a medical lamp of learning as the center piece of the window.

The property was occupied by Thad S. Brown, an undertaker, between 1927 and 1938, when it was used as a funeral home.
